Wesley South Perth Hockey Club are pleased to announce two new coaching appointments for the 2021 season.

Women’s Premier 1 - Janine Keating

Janine comes to us with an extensive coaching background in WA and Victoria, including coaching State Junior teams in both States. 

Janine’s most recent role was as coach of the Westside Wolves Premier 2 women’s team in 2020, having coached the Whitfords Hockey Club Women’s 1st side the year before. Janine has also been the junior player development coordinator at Wolves for a number of years.

Men’s Premier 1 – Ian Burcher

Ian comes to us from Vic Park where he was the assistant coach of the victorious Women’s Premier 1 team in 2020. Ian has also coached at State level including the head coach for the U18 Men in 2018 and as assistant coach for the U18 men in 2016 and 2017.

On the playing front Ian was a Kookaburras squad member and player in 2009. He has also played for the WA Thundersticks from 2005 – 2016, during which time they won 3 gold medals. At club level Ian has played for Vic Park from 2005 – 2020, winning 2 premierships in 2008 and 2012. He was also the Olympians medallist for the best player in the WA competition in 2012.
