Mandatory Hockey Australia levy

  • The Hockey Australia levy, which is outside of the control of WASPs and is required to be paid by all players, must be paid upon registering.
  • Hockey Australia has set the levy for this year at $68.79 for seniors (aged 19+), $56.81 for juniors (18 and under) and $22.81 for pre-juniors (aged 8 and under).
  • The levy covers your participation in all forms of the sport for the year (including club hockey, state and national championships and indoor).

Club fees

  • All Club fees are required to be paid in full by 1 June, unless a payment plan is agreed in advance (via email to wasphc.finance@gmail.com ).
  • Fee invoices will be sent via email (to the email used for registration).
  • Players that pay their fees in full by 30 April will receive a $20 voucher for use at the Richardson Park clubrooms (over the bar and/or at the coffee cart / bake stall).
  • Players that have outstanding fees as at 1 June for seniors and 1 July for juniors will be ineligible to play until the fees are paid.

Gate fees (for turf players)

  • The Club fees that WASPs invoices players that play on artificial turf for are inclusive of venue-imposed 'gate fees' - which are the 'game day' fees that the various turf facilities charge each team each match.
  • These fees are not controlled by WASPs, and are the responsibility of each player/team.
  • However, to streamline the administration of the payments:
    • each venue invoices the Club and the Club pays the fees on behalf of our teams/playerson on a weekly basis; and
    • the relevant fees for the season are accounted for in each players' total fees (such that just once invoice will be issued to each player for all fees).

Second playing grade supplement

  • Juniors playing seniors (4+ games) are required to pay i) the relevant junior fees and ii) a $200 senior fee supplement, plus senior gate fees.
  • Seniors playing both weekends and midweek are required to pay i) the full relevant weekend fees and ii) a $250 midweek fee supplement, plus midweek gate fees.

Fee increases

  • Fee increases have been kept to a minimum, and only increased to a level that allows the Club to continue operate on a sustainable financial basis (such that its costs are covered, noting that it operates on a not for profit basis).
  • In the main, the increases reflect the flow-on impacts of the unavoidable increases applied to the Club's expenses (including from HockeyWA fees and turf venue fees).

Concessions and volunteer discounts

  • Discounts are provided on the 'Club fee' component of player fees (no discounts are applied to gate fees) for the following:
    • Students, including apprentices
    • Goalkeepers that provide own gear
    • Coaches
    • Senior Committee members
    • State outdoor representative players * (in 2025, discount applied to next year's fees)
  • The relevant discount amounts are detailed here.
  • Please ensure that you complete all relevant fields when registering to ensure that the discount can be applied (after the CLub has confirmed you eligibility).

Outstanding fees from prior years

  • There remains a large number of outstanding fees from prior years which the Club has recently communicated (sent invoices) to those that are 'unfinancial'.
  • Prior years' fees are required to be paid in full in order for players to be eligible to play this season.
